Gallery Visit

During my spring break I got the chance to go visit an art gallery.  The one I chose to go visit was in downtown Seattle, 1922 Pike Place Seattle, Washington.  The gallery is called Lisa Harris Gallery and is probably no bigger than 800 sq.ft.  The type of work that is displayed are paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, and photography.  The two types that were on display when I was their was paintings by Mitchell Albala and John McCormick. They were very pretty and looked very well on the walls which were painted gray to bring out the true hues in the paint.  The lights in the gallery were on a track system and could be moved around to light up the art work. Also the gallery had almost panoramic view of the bay.  It let in lots of light and was amazing to look out at. From what I saw the walls did not move in the space but I did see a storage space that I think is where the moveable walls were located in. There was no specific way of moving through the space. One can just wander through at their own space and go in any way that they want too.  The over all experience of the space was fantastic! I love that they didn't over crowd the walls and let the art really speak for itself. They had the coolest ceiling for an art studio it was exposed wood paneling that was sandblasted. I was able to take a picture of the ceiling.
